A Welcome Letter from Morningside Toastmasters Club

A very warm welcome to our page and thank you for your interest in the Morningside Toastmasters Club.Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 352,000 members, who improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,400 clubs in 141 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must also communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

Toastmasters International Mission

We empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

Morningside Club Mission

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Toastmasters International Core Values

  • Integrity
  • Respect
  • Service

When I joined Toastmasters in 2016 to improve my public speaking or rather to get over my fear of it, I had no idea how much it would change my life. Not only was I a committee member right off the bat, but I have now gone 3 years in a row serving MSTM’s members. I do this not only because it helps in my personal and professional life, but because MSTM is family. It’s a safe space to build up your confidence, practice a speech or presentation, and gain leadership skills.

Every single meeting I attend, I learn something new, be it a tip for improving myself or a tool to use,  a book to read or a movie to watch. I am entertained, moved and inspired, every single week. And that’s why I stay. So, if any of this appeals to you, please come and visit us. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, at the Tennis Pavilion of the Morningside Country Club. You can also contact our Vice President Membership – Satram Blair for more information about visiting our club. We are looking forward to meeting you.

Yours Sincerely,

Charlotte Luzuka

Morningside Immediate Past President
